Discover Scuba Diving course is not an actual certification. Discover scuba is a fun course meant to give you the opportunity to learn the very basics of diving. No books, no tests, just basic theory & practice. In other words, the fun parts!

Your Discover Scuba course is broken down into 3 parts:

Theory & Instruction: Our instruction begins in our dive shop with a brief introduction to the theory behind scuba diving. You will learn about the basics of breathing underwater, how to safely use your scuba equipment and how to communicate underwater. We will help you gear you up then board our custom designed dive boat. Here the fun begins as we head out into Banderas Bay to seek out a safe shallow cove for the second lesson, your confined water dive.

Confined Water Dive: Once we arrive at the shallow cove, the fun part begins as we put our theory and skills into actual practice. Our PADI instructor will give you skills to practice, then accompany you underwater. Here you will practice getting your buoyancy, communicating underwater, and what to do in an emergency situations. Once both you and your instructor are comfortable with your newly learned underwater prowess, it is time to head out into deeper ocean.

Open Water Dive: Once you have mastered basic skills in the confined water dive, it’s time to head out scuba dive in Puerto Vallarta's natural aquarium, Los Arcos National Park. This is exciting since some of the most amazingly abundant underwater environments exist between Los Arcos marine park and Mismaloya. Both Mismaloya and Los Arcos have fantastic dive sites with depths averaging 25' to 40', perfect for beginners like you!

Learning to dive in Puerto Vallarta will open up a whole new world to you! While scuba diving Los Arcos National park you can frequently find sea turtles, a variety of rays including giant mantas, hundreds of tropical fish and maybe even a curious dolphin. If you pay close attention, you can also find extraordinary nudibranches here as well. So incredible!
